The manicure course consists of 400 hours of both theory and practical experience in many phases of manicuring and artificial nails. The barber course consists of 1000 hours of theory and practical training in the arts and sciences of hairstyling, hair cutting, shaving, mustache and beard design, coloring, and permanent waving, chemical hair relaxing, thermal styling, anatomy, chemistry, bacteriology and sanitation, physical fitness, professionalism, retailing, equipment care, and salon management. The Cosmetology course consists of 1500 hours of theory and practical training in the arts and sciences of hairstyling, hair cutting, coloring, permanent waving, chemical hair relaxing, thermal styling, anatomy, physical fitness, chemistry, bacteriology and sanitation, professionalism, retailing, equipment care, and salon management. Students seeking a license in Cosmetology, Barber, or Manicure will receive instruction and training at Transformed Barber and Cosmetology Academy. Emphasis is also placed on career possibilities in the field of engineering and engineering-related technologies. The course addresses concerns about social and political consequences of technological changes. Students will also explore various technology systems and manufacturing processes to discover how engineers and technicians use math, science and technology in an engineering problem-solving process. They work both individually and in teams to design solutions to a variety of problems using 3D modeling software and use an engineering notebook to document their work.
